Do you ever say to yourself, ‘There must be more to life than this?’
Have you created a life for yourself that was of your making? You may have chosen the career that you are in and the place where you live without even consulting the Lord.
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29 v 11 (NKJV)
This is one of the most famous scriptures in the Bible, but we shouldn’t just brush past it because we think we know what it means. There is always more the Holy Spirit can reveal to us if we take time to meditate upon His Word.
How amazing that the God of the universe has thoughts toward you and me! His plans for your future are only good and He wants to give us a life of abundance. We can choose to let him guide our future or take it into our own hands.
His will doesn’t automatically come to pass. We have to renew our minds so we can prove what His perfect will is. (Romans 12 v 1-2). It’s OUR responsibility. Many believe that God will change our thoughts without any cooperation from us and that whatever happens, it must be God. Nope! We have to choose to walk in His will, to seek Him and meditate upon His word.
Do not settle for a life without knowing His will. He wants to reveal it to you but you have to open your heart and let Him show you. Be prepared to surrender your desires and lay down your plans because His plans will always be better than our own.
